World ArchitecTour, the second edition is out of the blocks

Jul 4, 2022

Promote the meeting between Italian excellences in furniture, design and interior finishes with high-level distributors, contractors, architects and designers from the African continent. This is the goal of World ArchitecTour, the B2B event that returns on 4 and 5 July at the Padua Fair, after the success of 2021, for its second edition.

A tailor made matching format complements the exhibition area with a busy schedule of one-to-one meetings, designed to encourage the development of immediate business opportunities. This year’s edition hosts 105 Italian design and furniture brands in an exhibition area of over 1,000 square meters, with companies presenting their products to around 60 buyers from 13 countries: Algeria, Angola, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Ethiopia , Ghana, Kenya, Libya, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa and Tunisia.

«We are proud to inaugurate the second edition of this event, which last year demonstrated its importance for the Made in Italy sector» declares Marco Valsecchi, general manager of Padova Hall. “It’s an innovative project with great potential, a winning format that aims to concretely bring supply and demand together and we are already planning to expand its scope into other sectors and geographic areas. Italian exports to Africa in 2021 were worth almost 18 billion euros, an important figure that has already returned to pre-Covid levels and is destined to grow further. With World ArchitecTour we contribute to spreading the excellence of Made in Italy on international markets ».

Also in this edition the focus of the event is dedicated to African markets, areas with a high growth rate where new architectural and urban planning projects of great prestige are emerging and where the demand for products Made in Italy is increasingly strong. For 2022 the format of this event has remained unchanged, whereas the change of name – from Africa ArchitecTour to World ArchitecTour – responds to a medium-long term development project that aims to extend the format to other markets.

At World ArchitecTour there is a selection of top-level companies including some of the largest and most recognized names in Italian design and architecture, high-end furniture companies, companies in the lighting industry, leading brands in the field of home automation and electrical engineering, manufacturers of high-end furnishings, accessories and interior fittings in the luxury sector and beyond, from Murano glass to mosaics.

The B2B appointment is organized by Fiera di Padova with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ICE – Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian companies and with the patronage of the Veneto Region. This year the project is also supported by the Marche Region and Tecne (Special Company of the Chamber of Commerce of the Marche for the furniture and mechanical sectors), which finance 50% of the participation of the Marche companies. The organizing secretariat is managed by Medinit.

The show has a special COVID-19 swab service set up for citizens of African countries where the test is still required.
