Jul 11, 2022

The two-day event at the Padua exhibition center closes with the unanimous satisfaction of buyers and suppliers alike, who appreciated the unique format marked by a tight schedule of targeted one-to-one meetings.

At the end of the two days, the exhibitors and buyers agreed: «World ArchitecTour is an experience to be repeated».

After the success of the first edition, which had represented both a test and a new challenge, the second edition concluded in a very positive climate. This Padova Hall event brings together Made in Italy supply and demand in a unique format founded on a tight schedule of targeted one-to-one meetings between leading companies in the sector of design and interior finishing and a selected and qualified delegation of pre-eminent contractors, architects and designers from Africa.

«A format with great potential – explains Marco Valsecchi, General Director of Padova Hall – which in this second edition, marked by a quantitative and qualitative increase in the brands represented, was confirmed and further strengthened. We have already planned a medium-long term project with the company Medinit, which deals with the organizational aspects, to develop the event in other geographical contexts».

The voices of the exhibitors, from Bisazza to the Gimo Group and companies from the Marche Region

The event passed with flying colors from both the companies already rooted in Africa and others who looked to this area of the world for the first time.

This year’s edition also saw the significant presence of companies from the Marche region at the World ArchitecTour thanks to the support of Tecne, a special company in the Marche Chamber of Commerce that promotes internationalization. «In the African market we have observed a change in demand» explains Alessandro Galimberti, architect and responsible for showroom projects at Valpaint, a company in Ancona specialized in the production of paints and decorative coverings that has a plant in Tunisia and has been operating across North Africa for some time. «Attention is no longer only focused on esthetic quality, rather interest in the quality of materials and sustainability is growing, the African client wants to know how the paints are made. We are very satisfied with the contacts we have made over the past two days here». «We really appreciated the format of the event, much more organized that that in a larger exhibition center, it favors targeted and useful contacts», adds Giacomo Vagnini, owner of Mobilpiù Luxury in Pesaro, a company that is very present in African markets. «Great potential – explains Vagnini – which we saw very early on: 15 years ago we were the Italian company that took part in a fair in Nigeria. There are still countless opportunities in both the countries we already work in and in new emerging markets…». Also a positive experience for G&F from Camerano (Ancona), a company founded in 1967 and specialized in the production of kitchens, almost entirely for foreign markets. «We made some very interesting contacts to increase our business in countries we already work with as well as to expand to new markets», confirms Antonella Galassi, responsible for foreign sales at the company. Apart from ValpaintMobilpiù Luxury and G&F, other important companies from the Marche region attended World ArchitecTour: Fiam ItaliaFulgini ContractG.G.A.Mobilificio SpabDVEffe SalottiSach Group.

After having participated in the first edition, Bisazza, leader in the mosaic tiles sector, decided to take part once again this year. «With an investment in the overall content – explains the Commercial Director Alessandro Bisazza – we had the opportunity to made significant contacts in a market with great potential, yet which is often difficult to penetrate».

This was also the second experience at World ArchitecTour for the Paduan company Modenese Luxury Interiors, who exports 80% of their products to Africa. «We met some very interesting operators – explains Sonia Ferro, Export Area Manager – after the positive experience at the first edition, we are once again satisfied at the end of this event».

With 11 companies in the furnishing and lighting sector, Gruppo GIMO has its products worldwide. «The meetings we had – explains the Director Antonio Bibolini – go well beyond expectations, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the buyers present, who had been carefully selected. An experience to be repeated».

This satisfaction was also shared by Sandro Tumiotto, Export Manager of Gruppo Geromin, a company from San Stino di Livenza specialized in the production of premium wellness products, from saunas to Turkish baths, hamman and jacuzzis: «We had the opportunity to meet interesting contractors and I really appreciated the excellent organization of the schedule», comments the Export Manager.

The Florentine company Italfama is specialized in the production of splendid artisanal made-to-measure chessboards. «Exports represent 60% of our business, but we don’t have clients from the African market – explains Tommaso Marsili, who runs the company with his father and brother – so we decided to take advantage of this opportunity».

Huge success and great interest at the Exhibition also for the wine cellar presented by Frighetto Group from Bassano: an exclusive design, technological and premium wine cellars that can be customized for private homes. The company is also exploring the luxury market in Africa.
