Fiera di Padova overcomes the digital challenge

Three events in two weeks, with a new format and a digital platform developed by Fiera di Padova with a technological partner. A change of format – from hybrid to fully digital – only took place at the end of October, when the stop to live events was again introduced by a government decree. An international event at its absolute debut – City Vision, dedicated to smart cities, and two vertical B2Bs Green Logistics Intermodal Forum and Flormart City Forum, dedicated respectively to the themes of intermodal transport and urban green areas.

The last 30 days at Fiera di Padova was marked by a succession of challenges, some already planned, others unexpectedly occurring. We went through intense days, which gave us – at the end of this very difficult year – a sense of satisfaction, precious indications for the future and the conviction that we have taken the correct path to face these new realities.

The result – for all three events – was decidedly positive: and the online platform passed the “litmus test” and maintained our expectations, proving to be functional, simple and intuitive to use, and capable of bringing visitors and exhibitors together directly.

Even the calendars of events – online conferences, seminars, workshops … – that flanked the three events were very popular, confirming how trade fairs need to be community-based, in this moment marked by “a double acceleration”, to discuss about new ideas of the future.

An innovation that will accompany us even once the emergency is over and that will accompany the live events (which remain irreplaceable), amplifying business opportunities cultivated face-to-face.
